Congratulations on choosing the perfect wedding gown! We’re so happy for you, and we’re thrilled that you’ve picked Galleria Gowns to guide you through this process. Now that you’ve said yes, here’s what to look forward to!
Step 1 - Getting measured and picking a size
Bridal sizing runs differently from normal street or department store sizing. It’s important that your stylist measures your bust, waist, and hips to choose the most accurate size for your dress. Don’t expect your bridal size to be the same as your size in regular “street” clothing - bridal sizing runs differently. Your bridal size is likely 2-3 sizes larger than you’re used to purchasing. We usually recommend sizing up if you’re between sizes, particularly if the dress has a sheer bodice. Wedding gowns can always be taken in 2-3 sizes, but they often do not have seam allowance to let them out if they’re too small.
Step 2 - Placing your order
At Galleria Gowns, we require a 50% deposit to order your gown and any accessories. We handle all of our orders and deposits at the front counter, where your stylist will guide you through the whole process. We’ll confirm your dress, color, size, etc., take payment, and give you a receipt.
Step 3 - What comes next
The hard part is done! You’ve said yes, you’ve ordered your dress….now comes the waiting. We’ll call you as soon as your dress comes in! It usually takes 6 months to arrive. While you’re waiting for your dress, this is the time to set up alterations with one of our recommended bridal seamstresses, pick out bridesmaid dresses, and help your mom (or mother-figure!) pick out a fabulous dress. Once your dress comes in it’s time to choose your accessories!! Booking your accessory appointment at the time you pick up your dress is ideal. Choosing your accessories can be just as fun and as important as choosing your dress.
We can’t wait for you to come in and pick up your wedding gown. We’re here for you every step of the way, so please don’t hesitate to call or email with any questions. Congratulations on being our newest Galleria Girl!
